Working together

Compassionate, professional therapy

About Ashley

I am a psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained in Los Angeles, where I completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and I have worked with people at various stages of life, from early adulthood through to those in their nineties.

While I now work with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including stress, low mood, relationship difficulties and bereavement, much of my early work was with people living with significant memory loss. This experience gave me a deep appreciation of each person’s wholeness, beyond any diagnosis or challenge, and strengthened my belief that therapy can be meaningful for anyone. It shaped my conviction that every client is unique and every course of therapy will take its own path. At the core of the process is the healing power of human connection. My aim is to provide a space where trust and safety can grow, because it is within that relationship that real change becomes possible.

Therapy can be most powerful when there is space for reflection and depth. People often come to me during times of anxiety, loss, or challenges in their personal lives. Together we explore not only what feels most urgent, but also the patterns that lie beneath. For some, this becomes a longer journey of self-understanding and change, while others value having a steady place to return to when life feels overwhelming.

If you feel I may be the right person to support you, I would be pleased to hear from you.

Guiding Values

1

Authenticity

I bring honesty and openness into our work. Being authentic allows the process to be grounded and real.

2

Safety & Trust

Therapy only works when you feel safe enough to speak freely. I work to offer a steady, reliable relationship where trust can grow over time.

3

Respect

Every person's story is unique. I hold deep respect for your individuality, values, and choices, and I will not make assumptions about what you need.

4

Compassion

I approach each client with care and empathy. I recognise that participating in therapy takes courage and I meet that with understanding.

5

Depth & Reflection

We look not only at present concerns but also at the deeper patterns and experience that may shape them.

What about...

if I need help now?

You should call 999, 112, or visit your local A&E. I am not a crisis service and cannot provide immediate support.

if I'm worried about privacy?

Therapy is a private and respectful space. I adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines as outlined by the BACP, and I will discuss these with you in detail during our first session.

if I feel worried about being judged?

You will be met with curiosity and care, not judgment. This is your space to bring whatever feels important, without needing to censor yourself.

how many sessions will I need?

Every situation is unique and healing takes time. I will work with you to set realistic goals and timelines based on your needs. Therapy is proven to be effective, but it requires commitment and patience.

if I'm not sure this is the right fit?

Finding the right therapist is important. The consultation is free of charge and helps you see if working with me feels comfortable. I want you to have the therapist who feels right for you, even if that's not me.

is online therapy effective?

Yes, online therapy is proven to be as effective as in-person therapy for many people. It offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home.
